Good Weekend!
So we slept in on Saturday and then went to the Fair. We took a friend of Tiana's and sent them and their phones off in one direction and we went another. We took in "Weird Al" Yankovic's brain in 3-D; horses, goats, dogs, llamas, alpacas and cows; krusty pups, burgers, cotton candy and scones; a hypnotist and The Coats (an acapella group we like); lots of people and a fair bit of sunshine. The girls went on three rides and we old fogeys just walked around. We met a few people that we know and were glad for a Spirit that united us even there! Today we stayed after Meeting and spent the afternoon with Gordon, Ivona, Emily and Jonathan. We enjoyed a wonderful Romanian meal of cabbage rolls and polenta along with a salad made of fresh-from-the-garden spinach, onions and tomatoes!! It is so fun to have those kids warm up to us. Jonathan hasn't known us near as well as Emily did at this age, but today he was more than willing to come to either Kent or me! Tiana sat with them at the Gospel Meeting and was more than pleased to have Emily fall asleep on her. A couple of years ago at convention, we took Emily so that Gordon and Ivona would only have one baby to worry about and he slept most of the time so they could get something from the meetings. When Emily sat with us, she LOVED her Uncle Kent and would fall asleep on his shoulder even though Tiana REALLY wanted to be the one holding her! Today, she her dream came true! It was so cute after the meeting when Tiana had me take her because she was getting too heavy. Emily gave me big strong squeezes and told me over and over "I not heavy! I not heavy!" She didn't want me to put her down! Man, I love those kids!! Anyway, it was a great end to a good weekend! I really ought to go for a walk at this point, but I'm feeling so tired! After a big noon meal that followed an early morning shift, it might be a lot to ask of me to get me outside!!

aw, this does sound like a good weekend! what a sweet emily moment. makes me miss my evie & aidan moments. so these hutchison's... from your description i have a certain family coming to mind, they live in jacksonville, both are tall, and the man is pretty light-skinned.... does that sound right?
We loved having you here and spending more time with you. And I am so glad you had fun with our kids and that they were good friends with you. I remember too the old times when Emily was J's age and how friendly she was compared to him. But it was good to see him warming up.
We all love you.
We just found this letter yesterday on Emily's old blog and I want to share it with you, as maybe you don't remember it very much. And thank you again for your friendship!
This is Emily's first letter (email) she just got today, Nov.7th 2006:
"Yes, Miss Emily,
I love your blog! I can hardly wait to see you and hold you and love you! It is going to be so hard to share you with your grandparents, but they are very important people who will have to love you from so far! I love getting to know your mommy and daddy more, too. And the little acrobat you are! We had so much fun watching you tumble around today! Don't feel like you have to hurry to join us in this world, but you are going to be one very loved little girl (and spoiled if this auntie has her way about it!!)
I love you so much already,
Your Auntie Melisa
