The end of the Weekend

Well, another weekend has come and gone. Where do they go so fast?!?! Actually, I had a 3 day weekend. On Thursday I went to the Eastside and met up with Yumna. We were together for a few hours and it was just so nice to see her and get a short walk in before we had to pick up her littlest one from preschool! From there I came home to hurry and get Tiana to her Young Americans workshop where she would spend the next 5 hours of Thursday, 12 hours of Friday, and another 2 hours of rehearsal, plus 2+ hours of performance on Saturday! Friday I spent the day in my craft corner and got a few things done, took a bit of a walk and basically just took it quite easy! Saturday we ran some errands and then went to the super high energy, sauna-hot performance of the Young Americans and the 250 kids who took their workshop! Pretty amazing talent in the room, that's for sure! There were also 3 kids with very obvious special needs who were just incredible, too! One girl had Down Syndrome, but she was dancing just as energetically as the other kids, the blind boy who was helped to perform his part of the dances (the care of the Young Americans instructors was beyond sweet to watch!), and his singing solo brought tears to my eyes. Then there was the girl with absolutely no legs, one arm and on that arm, really only 2 fingers - 3 if you count the two that were webbed as one. She had a speaking part (although I had heard her sing and she was amazing!) that she had to climb the risers to do. No one helped her climb those risers, and it was very inspirational to watch her use her chest and her face (YES! her face!) to climb from one step to the next. The performance lasted far longer than they had planned and so it was a late night for us. I was up early this morning to head into work. We had two fantastic Meetings today and one fantastic nap in between! Now it is almost time to head to bed again! I hope to wait until this load of laundry can be swapped though! Have a great week!!

Wow what a busy week for you and your family.
I enjoyed reading all your news.
Good luck to Tiana this week. We wish we could see her on Saturday.
