Beautiful Day!
Thanks to an article on CNN.com where people were asked to put their favorite form of exercise up for all to see, I learned about this really cool old water tower right in my own backyard! This tower was built in the early 1900's to provide water to the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. There are 108 steps that you can climb up to the top and from there you can look through gated windows and look out over the Puget Sound region. There is also a VERY beautiful park all around the tower that includes an outdoor reservoir, a koi pond, the Seattle Asian Art Museum, a conservatory, dahlias, and just cool space! I had fun on the bus ride up there from downtown, definitely some stinky characters, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the park when I got there. Took the bus back downtown and met Kateen for some delicious Russian food at our favorite Cafe Yarmarka! I could have spent a ton more time downtown on this glorious day, but I'll take what I got! Take a look around from the top of the water tower and from down on the ground! (click on the picture!)
