4th of July 5K and other fun!

Terrah and Tiana ready to go!
At the Start Line!
Heading toward the Finish!
Nice Form, Terrah!
It looks like a smile! Tiana finished with a respectable 40 minutes or so!
It was HOT!
And -- your laugh for the day! Mr. OXI-GENE! He's my favorite Parade Route Super-Hero!
The dog Izzy that was standing next to us at the Parade. She was begging for strawberries. Such a sweet girl!

Congratulations Tiana!!! You are an American, you can tell, compared to me who doesn't like this stuff :-). Luckily I don't need it too much... I hope my kids at least will get to like it, so that you'd have company :-)

Well done Tiana, welcome to the running club! While the pain during the race isn't always so cool, the feeling afterward is the best. Keep it up!

The Greeks had a race in their Olympic games that was unique. The winner was not the runner who finished first.

It was the runner who finished with his torch still lit.

I'm so proud of you for taking part in the half marathon.
Thats was awsome.......

Let me tell you my "HERO" that as you were running you didnt notice the people standing along the sidelines wishing they could run like you. Yes...wishing that they had the courage to run among giants, wishing that they had the heart to compete among atheletes.

You are the torch that guides others, you are the candle of hope, you are the flame that truley burns red, white and blue. In my heart you will always finish first and maybe one day you and I will run along side by side and cross the finish line together.

PS.....

I've ran 5k's before, two in Germany and one in the States. I know that they are very demanding and though Ive never finished first, I finished them all with a huge smile.

Tiana, You have inspired me and so I promise you this that when I return to the states I take part in a half marathon. So now I shall start training and I'll keep you post on my progress.

Thank you for inspiring me....

Jaime,
I think that you are trying to make me cry. :) Thank you for everything you have done and you are a big help to not only me but also to the many people you have helped in the U.S. I was going to stop doing 5ks but now if you do the half marathon I will do another 5k so hopefully someday i can work up to a 10k then a half. Thank you for all that you have done and all you will do. Keep safe and come back to the states soon! Happy late 4th and thank you for serving our country!

Just read the blog today. Way to go, Tiana. I really think you would make a great runner. Who knows, they might even take you on the high school track team. You could try the short events to minimize the pain.
