So we finally get the thunderstorm I was waiting for and I was too tired to even try to get to a place where I could photograph it safely! We had some very awesome, intense, long-lasting rolls of thunder last night. It seems the thunder sometimes preceded the lightning, but maybe we were the thunder for lightning that had happened for someone else further away. I must say, I LOVE a good thunderstorm! The raw power and greatness is such a humbling feeling, although a very exciting one at the same time! I must say, though, Coda wasn't near so excited, as a matter of fact he spent a lot of the time sidled up next to my side of the bed so I could scratch his head and remind him that someone bigger and braver was nearby! No one else seemed to be so excited either, as they all slept through it! As I type this even now, I think I hear some distant rumbles! And tomorrow Man will try to be so awesome with beautiful displays of color and maybe some loud accompanying music. Sorry, but for all of the beauty, it just can't compare to the power of the Thunderstorm!

So true!! We watched fireworks in Seattle a few years ago, a double spectacle from Seattle Center on our left and Lake Union/Gasworks Park straight ahead, but what captured our attention the most was the "natural fireworks" display off to the right!!
Do you remember two years ago on 4th of July, as we were watching both fireworks and lightning at the same time? I think too it is awesome. I love thunderstorms too. And your picture is gorgeous!!!
